Scott Erickson        When he’s not defending humanity against giant insects, Scott Erickson is an award-winning writer of humor and satire.
His humor books include the collections The Navy Girl Book and The Best of Reality Ranch. His humorous fiction includes the comedy novellas Seventeen and Turning into a Non-Mormon Secular Humanist Zombie and B-Movie Mash-up: Gastropods of Terror and How to Get a Head in Real Estate.
As for satire… He has concluded that nature is pretty great, which makes him very sad that we’re wrecking it. This led to his satirical novel, The Diary of Amy, the 14-Year-Old Girl Who Saved the Earth. His concern about the increasing “dumbing down of America” resulted in his satirical novella Invasion of the Dumb Snatchers.
He has found that writing satire is very challenging because civilization keeps coming up with things that are more absurd than he can make up.
He lives in Portland, Oregon, and enjoys beer and roller skating (but not at the same time). He is possibly the nicest curmudgeon you’ll ever meet.
